Flickr..
As you've probably noticed I've also been posting pix on Flickr for some time. It looked great.. connecting to a rather new "beta"-photographic worldwide community. Hopefull of getting some proper feedback instead of the comments you usually see on most "open" photo-communities which are mainly about "How beautifull" and "How amazing" their (friends) pictures are. Offcourse it's nice to hear / read that the things you do are appreciated. But most of work of the "contacts" I'm following there aren't THAT great. It sometimes even looks as if their puking out their photographic works on the internet. Naturally that's their problem. And sometimes it can be quite fun watching a serie of someone else. But to comment all pix with such enthousiasm.. that's ill.
Perhaps I'm the one who's to blame, who's crazy, etc. but in point of view pictures have to make sense. Pictures have to mean something to someone, opens up someones "eyes",.. by creating large archives through which the visitor has to find it's way to just find that one picture they could like. Sorry, but that's not my way. Allthough I get quite often questions about "the rest". How hard I try they sometimes don't understand the meaning of "(Too) much is harmfull".
Another statement I like to make: A serious Photographer knows what to show and what not.
Neverthless there's also lots op photographic works there which are really worthwile looking at / for.. and inspirational.
